Highlights of a Wonderful Week

And just like that, its over! Poof. August, at its end, right before our eyes. For me it went out with a bang in what turned out to be a fantastic, whirlwind, wonderful, hectic week. Some highlights...

Our Bond & Bowery online market place proved its worth with a sale! As non advertiser's we we're on the fence about joining just a couple weeks ago and are already really pleased with the direction it is going in. Lamp above not the item we sold but too pretty not to include. You can check it out here.

A lunch date and day of fun with Heather always brightens me up! The Fountain Coffee Room was so special and unlike any other place I have been. I can't wait to take 2E and do it all over again!

My new, life changing, sunglasses. They rule. Enough said.

The discovery of these blogs made for a couple hours of eye candy and entertainment.

Last but not least a peak at a beautiful home we will be posting on the Empiric blog next week.

However you're spending your weekend I hope you have fun. Blogging has reminded me to stop and smell the roses, enjoy the things I'm doing and do the things I enjoy. I think we will be heading up to Santa Barbara for a day or two but I'll be back on Monday and am looking forward to sharing a new season with you all.

Good Morning!

Culver Citys Almost Invisible Boxes

This is our quaint city center that has completely transformed in the last three years. Just prior to all the new restaurants and galleries moving in we noticed the utility boxes. Although at first it appeared to be the work of crafty graffiti artists we came to the conclusion, due to the amount of money a project such as this would cost, that the city was behind it.

Artist Joshua Callaghan applied photographs to vinyl on all four sides of the nine eye sores to "integrate the boxes into the surrounding landscape".

This installation is located in downtown Culver City's Town Plaza.

Hermes Stunner

Heather said this reminded her of me.

Which caused me to immediately click on the Hermes link and window shop. Within seconds I had set my gaze on this.

From the higher end china pattern we registered for. Hey, a girl can dream!

For jewelry on my dresser. Keys by the front door. Matches on a side table... aahhh. A sample from our current collection of ashtrays is worth taking a peak.

And I think that Hermes stunner would fit right in!

BINGE & purge

Hey Kiddo's. I'm tidying up a bit. After realizing I don't actually read a third of the blogs on my roll I set them free, catch and release if you will. Not because they weren't great, most of you have them all on your rolls too, but because I want to make room for all the great blogs I continue to stumble upon that bring me so much joy. And I hate long blog rolls.

The morning after the wedding. Eeek!

Also, (drum roll please) I eliminated the wedding references as I doubt I'll be needing them any time soon. Amazing how something can rule your brain one day and be completely irrelevant the next!

If you're reading this and don't see your name on my list please post a comment so I can come peep your goods.

A Girls Best Friend

I miss shopping for rings...

So I'm thankful to find pieces such as these to get me excited!!

Its a jungle out there!

It is not every day you find a fleet of elephant topiaries on tour for a good cause. If you have the time pop into their site and check it out. A few more photos...

The fleet of 13 is so beautiful, it fills me with an unexplained happiness and it got me thinking; "could I be happier with one of these little guys in my very own backyard"?

Hmmm. The yard is heavy on my mind this week. We used to spend most of our summer evenings entertaining on our patio and days lounging in chairs on the lawn. When the time came to convert our downstairs warehouse into a second showroom the only realistic option was to put 2 (TWO!!) 20' shipping containers in our backyard. For approx 6 months that is where they both remained, eye sores but very useful eyesores.

Well, we're down to just one and as you can kind of see in the photo below, we hung a large circus banner on the side to disguise the beast. With work being busy and the wedding to plan I don't think either of us had the energy this past year to deal. Then came August. We haven't had one evening with friends on the patio (which is not visible in this shot) and the walls inside our place are getting closer and closer. This in conjunction with Gorgi accidentally getting locked inside for an over night which could have resulted in his sad fluffy death if not for me finding him in the nick of time was all the motivation we needed.

2E busted a move to empty it and on Friday life will resume to normal when it goes back from where it came! Hopefully this weekend we will be grilling and handstanding and backyarding (a sport in my inner circle) to our hearts content!!!! I will save the photos of the yard in its worst state for a Before and After in the near future but rest assured, elephant topiary or not, I will once again find happiness in our backyard.

Congratulations!

Sweet Dreams

A European inspired desert tray with Lavender Goat Cheese, Surfas.

Figs from Trader Joes so good I can pop them like grapes.

Bohemian Rhapsody

And some days I just want to toss off my heels and rock a little earthy bling.

Thanks to Heathers birthday gift I can.

Thanks to others you can too.
