A Very Very Merry

You'll do alright with your Christmas of white but I'll have a blue, blue Christmas.
I'm headed south to Cabo for a very nice, very long vacation where I plan on sipping tequila instead of nog, replacing the warmth of the fire with the heat from the sun, and trading in the smell of our douglas fir for the shade of a palm. I'll be back in a few weeks, sunkissed, full of new memories, and no doubt incredibly happy. See you in the New Year.
Happy Holidays!

Head Over Holidays: The Greeting

Don't you just love all the personal notes that come in the mail this time of year? A wonderful tradition I really hope never dies! Yesterday 2E and I finally knocked out our handmade holiday cards. The image of the pear is from one of my very favorite books, Pomona Britannica. A resource I should pull from far more often!

Just. Precious.

Head Over Holidays: The View

Snoqualmie Falls, Saturday, from the Salish Lodge. I ate there overlooking the falls a few summers ago and, as breath taking as it was then, I think I prefer it decked with ice and snow.
Side note: the entire time we were there I kept saying "You's no call me no more" in my *best* Rosie Perez, Puerto Rican accent. 2E was not amused. I was.... very!

Happy (Cold & Cozy) Weekend

We have weather in LA! Granted its rain rather than snow but everyone is bundled up in hats and scarves and running from car to door. This weekend we launch the store's holiday gift guide
which includes the fabulous line, Royal Apothic. The whole collection looks as if it was made for us! There are lots of unique vintage accessories still arriving so the shelves remain fresh amidst all the shoppers.

Head Over Holidays: The Windows

The store is aglow with twinkle lights, candle flames, and one genius vintage faux fireplace (its my life!).

Melissa threw down some plaid ribbon, fake snow, pine cone ornament on the window Christmas tree. Beyond Coz.

It's no secret that I love the holidays. Not the day as much as the weeks leading up to it. The spirit. I am in my element so please if you are in the neighborhood come spread some fa la la la la cheer, my dears!

Happy Festive Weekend

Its Saturday. I haven't photographed the store decor. Or had a good nights sleep in a week. Today I'll put the final touches on our vignettes to share in Mondays post. They are cute. And tonight. Tonight I sleep!

Holiday Decor

Today is decorating day at the store. Two tree's and a wreath later I am in the full blown holiday spirit. This room photographed by William Waldron captures the essence of winter perfectly. I'll share our festive decorations tomorrow.

Winter Whites
I'm in a light mood today..

Yesterday felt really heavy.

This home, via Martha Stewart, is a very soothing palette.
