How beautiful is that modern credenza below. Very Mad Men. I want to take it home!
2E shot a picture of the dresser, above, for me on his iPhone when he was out scouting for the shop. It was jammed tight in a thrift store and had seen better days so it wasn't making a real splash. I loved it and agreed we should snatch it up quick.
A few layers of lacquer and a couple weeks of work and it is singing a new tune.

Gorgeous pieces Annie! All your lamps always make me melt--and the credenza is fantastic!

Annie - how did you start Empiric? It's just so gorgeous and high end. I would love to have a similar store here in our town. I'm very impressed by your work.
Julia,
I wish I could credit for starting Empiric! My husband started the business and I partnered with him after it had already soared to great heights.
You're sweet!

I found a six-drawer version of this dresser recently. Did yours have a Formica top?
The piece we sold did not have a formica top. If you purchased the 6 drawer version I hope you are enjoying it.
I'll be enjoying it as soon as we restore it. Mostly it just needs cleaning. It's the same exact dresser, only with 6 drawers.
It's got hardware on the back to mount a mirror. And the top is woodgrain Formica, oddly enough. I think we may take the Formica off and replace the top. Either way, the lines on this thing are spectacular.
