Before & After - Candice Olson on Today

Interior and product designer (as well as reality TV host and Design Star judge) Candice Olson shared a few room make overs on this mornings Today Show. The bedroom blew me away...

Good bye 1986 green carpet. Hello Casa del Mar dream retreat!

I am a big fan of layering and creating multiple seating vignettes within a large space. No doubt the budget for this makeover was beyond but as we all know, money doesn't buy taste (or class Countess Luann ;) This is a classy room!

Featured Items of The Week

I am so smitten kitten with the Janus sofa I just had made for the showroom. It would fit in beautifully in our anniversary suite at the Casa del Mar, no? Maybe that was my subconscious source of inspiration....

Its so feminine and soft with a twist, reversible back cushions featuring only one panel of the floral pattern to keep it light and fresh.

j'adore. info here.

A Wonderful Weekend

I had to share pictures of our anniversary weekend at the Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. It was too lovely not to!

I thought I had died and gone to heaven under the beams of the ceiling and the glow of the sun.

Milo approved.

The suite felt more like a bungalow than a hotel room with very personal touches such as shelves of books and ocean keepsakes.

I am day dreaming about curling up on the chaise and spending the afternoon reading some of their library.

The view out to the pier was a nice surprise...

2e planned to propose to me on this ferris wheel but I was being a brat that day. Instead he popped the question on the beach, coincidentally almost directly out front of our weekend suite.

I would give my eye teeth to be back there right now......
