A Present To Myself

Take a peak back to when my love affair for this sort of thing all started....

Monday, March 22, 2010

Feeling jazzed for spring! I love the softness of the season and the slow awaken of color. Browsing a vendors site for home accessories I discovered they sell fashion accessories as well. And good ones!

I have a collection of Hermes bangles going that is putting my husbands wallet in an anorexic state. These incredibly affordable versions would mingle nicely..... and leave some extra cash for finger bling.

Gift Vault

My second favorite retailer, Polo Ralph Lauren, recently launched a web site featuring unique and rare gifts (dating back to the 1800's) - and just in time for the holiday season!

Their Gift Vault site showcases three timeless collections including Americana, Hollywood Glamour and Estate (my fave).

The Americana collection includes unique merchandise rooted in the Western Frontier from Navajo textiles to one of a kind concho belts.

Hollywood Glamour epitomizes 1930’s cinema with spectacular art deco home items reminiscent of old Hollywood including limited edition estate jewelry to sterling silver
barware.

Estate is the ultimate in sophistication and royalty including gold and gem stone estate jewelry, bronze statues and equestrian inspired accessories.

"The Ralph Lauren Gift Vault is the perfect destination for the discerning gift giver looking for something extraordinary for someone truly unique or even for themselves"

and I have to agree!

Twigs & Leather

It's been a while since I've sang about the treasures of Melissa McClure's Jewelry Alchemy and she has added some beautiful pieces to her {already beautiful} line. I have trouble finding anything I don't love but I particularly fancy the combination of leather and gold.

I mean, the Leather Wrap Honeycomb has me s-s-stuttering.

And the Leather Twig wrap leaves me just............ speechless. Either of these bracelets could easily be a favorite everyday accessory. In a perfect world I would alternate between these and the Leather Choker/Plain Chain.

With a plain white tank, a tan, and some turquoise bling this would be insane.

Available at Roseark.

The Ruby Door

My beautiful friend Tracey Weiss has the charming shop, The Ruby Door, in Boston’s Beacon Hill. If any of you are familiar with the store than you know already what a treasure it is! A gem as special as the gem's she peddles.

"Special things are for everyone and are to be enjoyed and loved. Jewelry is to be worn, every day and in every situation, and it shouldn’t define a woman, but should light her up and bring out her inherent beauty. It should make her feel fabulous"

In addition to jewelry you will also find supple leather hand bags, scarves, and as of last spring, home accessories; all chosen with the same care that she uses with her jewelry.

Brides and husbands will be intrigued to find out that The Ruby Door also offers custom pieces for those special occasions when run of the mill just won't do! My Bostonian blog friends be sure to say hello for me next time you pop in.
