On day two of the show and placing orders like crazy. Vendors are stepping up their game this year and I am so excited for the shipments to start arriving. Some lighting highlights....

I'm a big fan of the natural materials (travertine, marble, leather, and wood) on these sconces and lamps. They will mingle perfectly with vintage lamps at the shop. The chandelier below has been around for a little while but I couldn't resist it this time. Its a departure from our look but so yummy!

An Interuption From My Interuption

This week flew by with some great interviews under our belts and an impending job offer to extend. I'm really looking forward to having another creative person join our team! This weekend spells more work work work for me but I was able to squeeze a lil' bit of play into my week.

On Monday if you told me my week would have unfolded the way that it did I would have stared in disbelief. Somethings just have to be experienced to be believed!

A game of cops and robbers anyone?

I didn't want to bore you with the details of this but let's just say it didn't make my week any easier!

It wasn't a full blown waste of one evening but some movies are better left rented. Jack White, on the other hand, can do no wrong.

It's that time of year again. Hopefully you've lightened up.

Me, I'm pretty light. The no booze diet and my newish gym membership are doing wonders. Whatever you do this weekend I hope it is savory and sweet. I'll be planning my Thanksgiving Dinner menu and celebrating my favorite 2 year old's birthday. Good times!

Collections are fun!

I did some reflecting around my 30th birthday and found myself more emotional than I had predicted. Everyday we make the decision to be happy and appreciate where we are at or make the changes to get where we want to be. This year I have found myself struggling on days when I needed to pick my head up and be thankful for all that I have. Sometimes life can be overwhelming and focusing on the positive easier said than done but it shouldn't take the bad days to realize how short this journey is and how much fun there is to be had!

I have lathered, rinsed and repeated reading this article for my entire adult life and still I am inspired by their story of partnership. Live, Love, Laugh!

Returning to work with a clear head and a folder full of ideas has made the second half of summer more exciting than I could have (sweet) dreamed!
